Established in the early 1990s, at a pivotal moment in India’s economic liberalization, the Firm quickly evolved into a full-service law practice. Under Mr. Luthra’s stewardship, it was built on a foundation of integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to client service. He believed that enduring institutions are shaped not only by the quality of their work but also by the strength of their people - a philosophy reflected in the many homegrown leaders who continue to guide the Firm today.

A visionary leader with a deep understanding of business and law, Mr. Luthra championed a forward-looking approach to legal practice. He encouraged the Firm to embrace both established practice areas and emerging sectors, setting high professional standards and contributing to the evolution of India’s legal landscape. His emphasis on understanding clients’ businesses, industries, and commercial objectives enabled the Firm to deliver practical, strategic, and risk-conscious legal solutions to domestic and international clients alike.

Over the years, the Firm has advised numerous multinational corporations on their entry into and growth within India, helping them navigate the complexities of the Indian legal and regulatory environment. This commitment to excellence, innovation, and client-centric counsel remains a defining characteristic of the Firm.

Today, the Firm stands on decades of accumulated knowledge, experience, and industry insight. Its institutional strength has been built over years of dedicated service, enabling it to provide sophisticated legal counsel across a broad spectrum of sectors and jurisdictions.

On 10 May 2023, the Firm bid farewell to its mentor, guide, colleague, and friend. While his passing marked the end of an extraordinary chapter, his values, vision, and principles continue to inspire every aspect of the Firm’s journey.

The greatest tribute we can offer to our Founder is to uphold the standards he established, pursue excellence with the same determination, and continue building on the foundation he created.
