We are delighted to announce that Dr. Amar Patnaik, a Member of Parliament in Rajya Sabha and recipient of the Sansad Ratna Award 2022 (Best Parliamentarian) has joined Luthra and Luthra Law Offices India as an of-counsel.
He is also a member of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Forest, Environment and Climate Change and the Rajya Sabha Committee on Subordinate Legislation, and Public Accounts Committee & the Committee on Public Undertakings.
As a lawyer, he practices before National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), National Green Tribunal (NGT), the Electricity Regulatory Authority, etc. He was also a key member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019, and the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Biodiversity Bill, 2021.
A former career bureaucrat in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department (CAG India), Dr. Patnaik represented the United Nations and the Food and Agriculture Organisation.
A graduate of St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, Dr. Patnaik completed his Master’s from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore, the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
Dr. Patnaik is well-known for his contributions to the economics, finance, technology, data privacy and environment space in the country and has been a constant on various platforms like Brussels Privacy Hub, UK India Business Council (UKIBC), USIBC – US India Business Council, etc. discussing various technology policy issues.
